Kissin’ butt on Crooked Cog
Last night Candace made an observation that nobody seems to kiss butt more than me and my fellow cycling bloggers. She said it seems like we are always saying incredibly bubbly and cheerful things about each other. I told her to wait until she hears my new Crooked Cog Podcast episode. The title… “Top Ten People of 2006″.
While I can do nothing but agree with her, I would like to give an explanation. I think the reason we seem to mention each other so much more than most other bloggers is the fact that we are in an industry together where we actually see each other on a regular basis and have more contact than just the blogosphere. I see the same kind of stuff go on in other blog rings where people interact in person and in business (i.e. tech blogs, marketing blogs, etc).
She knows all the lovin’ is out of respect and admiration, but she still gets a good laugh out of it.
Maybe I should start talking more about the people I don’t like…
That damn Dick Pound!

I love you man! No really… but in a totally non-Congressional-page kind of way.
Yes, we say good things about each other out of respect and admiration for what the other does. We can totally disagree about something and then come back around and agree about something else. It’s all about the love…
Group hug!

so basically what you’re saying is…I shouldn’t have been worried about all the strippers and hookers at Interbike, but all the bike-industry lovin’ that was going on. Good to know.

I’m actually not worried about you - Tim doesn’t know good fashion but he knows faded denim jackets are a big no-no
