When I got to taking a brush to the rear cassette cogs I noticed they were moving laterally&#8230; not a good sign. I pulled the wheel off and the lock ring had come off and I could pull the cogs off the hub. There was some gunk in there so I cleaned it out and I pulled out some thin shavings of metal.
